Education Scholarship

Dr. L. Alex Swan, January 17, 1938 - September 29, 2019

On September 29, 2019, my father departed this life leaving a mighty legacy. My father was dedicated to educational pursuits, pursuing dreams and being excellent in all you do. My father was my mentor and my teacher. He supported me in all my endeavors, both personally and professionally. 

In honor of my late father, Dr. L. Alex Swan, a scholarship fund has been set up for worthy students. Students from Northern Caribbean University, Oakwood University and Texas Southern University are eligible.

My dad often gave us words to live by. One that has been influential to me over the years is ‘whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sister of mine, you did for me’.  This has led me in my pursuits to become a social worker and be of service to mankind in general.
